Sate is a character in Kaiba.
Appearance[]
Sate has orange hair and amber colored eyes. She wears a long navy coat with white buttons which covers the lower half of her face, baggy navy pants, white gloves, and knee-high black boots. Her body is a self-constructed doll with organs inside. Many such as Popo comment on this body's stiffness.
History[]
Sate has lived in the underworld with her brother Kichi since they were children. When they were younger, they watched Popo, Cheki, and Neiro play from the shadows.
Sate tells Popo that Dada-sama is planning to kill him because he sees Popo as a threat. She explains to him her plan of action and tells him she would follow him anywhere.
She is revealed to have been ready to follow Popo since they were children.
She confesses that she wiped Cheki's mind clean so that Cheki would be an obedient slave for Popo.
In "Everyone in the Clouds", She shoots Popo and states that she cannot follow him anymore. She herself is shot in the head by Mantle.
She appears to have been brought back to life by the end of the series however.
Personality[]
Sate is shown to be loyal, ruthless, and unemotional.
She seems to have feelings towards Popo that are largely reciprocated.

"False Face"[]
Sate demands to see the picture of young Popo and asks if that was him as a kid. After Popo tells Sate to never play such a stupid joke again, she says sorry.
After a while, Popo goes back and grabs a nippo. He then used his locket to reveal a holographic image, not knowing Sate was there. She asks if that is his mother and apologizes for the commotion again and comments that Cheki is acting suspicious. Then she asked if Popo was repaying his mother when he ordered her body to be scrapped. He lashes out and asks what her point is. Sate reminds him how Warp is still enthroned and says there's multiple Warps.
Sate shoots the communication device onto the Warp impostor.
Sate tells Popo the real Warp(Kaiba) is in the stock room of the factory and asks him if he wants to see it.
When they arrive at the room, they watch as Paru is already causing a disturbance. Warp clones are falling everywhere and the genuine one's immortality is shows on the conveyor belt of a machine. Kichi takes the body away. Sate attaches a communication device to the Warp impostor, unbeknownst to him. She tells Popo she knows where Kichi is going.
Sate listens to Popo coming to the realization that the Warp that is in the throne is fake. Someone calls for Popo, saying Dada-sama is looking for him but Sate interrupts and tells him it's their chance and to not go to Dada because he's too suspicious. She gives Popo his mother's memory chip, and says she knows Popo altered Neiro's memories and his body change. As Popo seems unhappy, grabbing Sate, she says Dada-sama likely knows, too, and tries to convince him she's on his side. Popo calms down and Sate tells him he won't get a promotion, but instead he could be eliminated as a threat, especially since particularly Neiro's altered memories are clear when viewed through a Memory Reader. She goes back to saying this is their great chance to defeat Warp without relying on Dada-sama and even possibly taking a place in "heaven". Sate affirms her loyalty to Popo.
Cut to Popo in the preaching room and running up the invisible platform and incapacitating a Dada. Other rebelling members of Issoudan destroy the other Dadas' weapons. Popo forcefully takes off a Dada's mask and it is revealed that the Dadas are Warp clones. They force Dada to lead them to a room with ancient weapons developed potentially capable of destroying a legitimate Warp. Then they went to a room with full of memory chips of Warp copies. In the ceiling, there is an image of the Kaiba plant that swallows memories. Sate comments, "The legendary plant, Kaiba".
"Kill Warp!"[]
Sate opens a door to Kichi's lab.
Sate watches Cheki attempting to remind Neiro of who she was before her memories were altered then threatening to jump off a platform in the Issoudan's preaching room. Then she orders the wiping of Cheki's memories that would influence more unwanted action offscreen, leaving her a compliant shell.
She accompanies Popo when he threatens Dada, now revealed to be three Warp clones, with the memory chips of other clones.
"Spinning Fans"[]
Popo is overjoyed in their victory against the real Warp. He comments on Sate's stiff body. They are chased by a Skonk that spread an electrolytic cloud.
Sate tells Popo that she altered Cheki's memory and he punches her.
Popo drops his mother's memory chip and it is incinerated. He begs Sate to stop the ship and she refuses. He tells her she's completely useless.
She shoots Popo in the head, stating that she cannot follow him anymore. She herself is shot in the head by Mantle shortly after that, revealing her mangled up doll body.
Flashback to Popo and Cheki as kids eating Nippos. Popo says he'll become king. Sate and Kichi are watching in the distance. When Popo asks whoever wants to help him become king to raise their hands, Sate partly raises a hand. Kichi asks Sate if she wants to go play with them, Sate slow punches him.
