Kona and Naru are characters in Kaiba who appear in "Chroniko's Boots." They are Chroniko's cousins but are referred to as her brothers.

Abilities[]

Chroniko's brothers00

Kona and Naru as babies

They are shown working with Chroniko and their mother to earn money. They can eat large quantities of food.

Appearance[]

They are small and thin, each sporting a color (pink and blue, respectively) on their outfits, with Kona having a pink butterfly and Naru having a blue fish. They both have large white hats, one shaped like a heart and the other a spade. They also have strands of hair peeking out of their hats, with two strands of hair on Kona and one curl on Naru.

They have fair skin, no noses, and round wide-set eyes. They also have large mouths.

History[]

In Negi's memories, it's shown that Kona and Naru were born shortly after Moka's death and Chroniko began living with Negi and her husband. When they were younger, the boys seem to have had a good relationship with Chroniko, as they helped her and their mother push the cart up a hill. They also clung to Chroniko after their father died.

They were also jealous of Chroniko being allowed to play the piano while they couldn't.

At one point, Chroniko held one of her brothers up to Negi's head, either to take bad memories out or put good memories in.

Personality[]

They're shown to repeat and agree with everything their mother says, even when it's cold and cruel. They have large appetites and are remorseless about how they secretly ate food while Chroniko went hungry, gleefully declaring it. They seem to have no sadness at Chroniko having sacrificed her body in order to help support them.

Episode appearances[]

"Chroniko's Boots"[]

An older woman in a house talks of how much better she feels at her family's return to a normal life. While taking down the photo of a woman who looks like Chroniko, she complains to the photo that Chroniko was always the woman's daughter anyway, and not her own. Two small boys are seen behind a large table stacked with food, agreeing loudly with her. When she tells them to eat, they're gleeful, with one even saying they no longer have to eat secretly anymore.

Back in Negi's home, a table littered with leftovers is shown. Kona and Naru are fast asleep, crumbs still on their faces. Negi is moving the boxes off of the old piano. She swipes the dust off of it before opening it. She begins to play a tune, losing herself in the music.
